FINNISH STAMP EXPERTS

The Finnish Philatelic Federation appointed its first experts on 3 June 1981. Before that there were in Finland a few independent stamp experts, and still earlier (active up to the 1950's) also the expert committees of the HFF (hand stamps) and FFF philatelic societies (impressions), as well as (mainly before WW2) some stamp dealers (marks) who expertised. The official experts are all members of the Federation's Commission on  Expertization, but expertise as individuals only, so you have to contact them directly. Their services also include the defining of type, quality etc. Please see the worldwide experts lists by names for biographical details.

The most famous FOREIGN EXPERTS for Finnish philatelic items was Rolf Gummesson certif. of Sweden. Present foreign experts on Finnish stamps: Cyril Schwenson (Germany, BPP, certif.), Jay Smith (N. Carolina USA, APS), and Herbert R. Volin (California USA, APS and PF).**

SUOMEN POSTIMERKKIEN AITOUTTAJAT
Suomen Filatelistiliitto ry nimitti ensimmäiset aitouttajansa 3.6.1981. Ennen sitä oli muutamia itsenäisiä aitouttajia, ja vielä aikaisemmin myös mm. Helsingfors Frimärkssamlarförening rf:n ja Frimärkssamlareföreningen i Finland rf:n aitoutuslautakunnat samoin kuin eräitä postimerkkikauppiaita, jotka suorittivat aitoutuksia ja tunnistivat väärennettyjä postimerkkejä. Nykyään virallinen aitouttaja on automaattisesti Liiton aitoutustoimikunnan jäsen, mutta hän suorittaa kaikki aitoutukset yksityisesti. Palveluun sisältyy tyyppi- ja laatumääritykset ym.


EXPERTER FÖR FINSKA FRIMÄRKEN
Finlands Filatelistförbund rf utnämnde sina första äkthetsprövare den 3.6.1981. Före det fanns det några självständiga experter, och ännu tidigare verkade bl.a. Helsingfors Frimärkssamlare Förening rf:s och Frimärkssamlarförening i Finland rf:s expertnämnder samt handlare som expertiserade frimärken och identifierade frimärksförfalskningar. De nuvarande experterna är automatiskt medlemmar av Förbundets prövningsnämnd, men utför alla prövningsuppdrag privat. I deras service ingår typ- och kvalitetsbestämningar etc.
