MAJOR SOURCES AND REVISIONS, TOS, ETC.

The sources used for the original list compiled in 2000 were the German BPP's official rolls of members for 1961, 1968, 1976 and 1980, as well as (for German or BPP experts) the Michel catalogues of 1920, 1935, 1950, 1984, and several years between 1991 and 1998. The list's subsequent supplement made use of e.g. several of AIEP's lists of members.

In February 2001 the two lists were published on the Internet (Geocities) in the same format as today. In September 2001 the original list was merged with the extensive supplement to form the present register (by names and areas), which has since been considerably enlarged. The changes in BPP and AIEP memberships are continuously monitored, and other new information is being added too.

The sister page, the Stamp Forgery Guide, was
first published in February 2001 as a link directory, and was enlarged in May 2004 with a stamp forgery literature bibliography. In 2005 separate forgery monographs (eg. Ruhleben, Samoa Express) as well as other philatelic articles (eg. Mozambique Co.) written by ourselves were added to the site's contents. This publishing activity has continued with several more papers (notably in November 2006).

Since September 2003 these pages are available on this web site, Filatelia. In October 2003 the tables (Names, Countries and All) were recoded using CSS, which made them load much faster than before and reduced total file size. A search engine for the site was also added (removed January 2008). Since autumn 2006 the layout has been improved, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by wider monitor screens.

These pages do not utilise cookies (ref. EU Directive 2002/58/EC), nor Flash. The compilations are protected by copyright.
