FORGED POSTMARKS WORLDWIDE
on mainly pre-1920 stamps

Many of these fakes are still very common today, especially the CTOs of Luxembourg, Montenegro, San Marino, Liberia, Costa Rica, Haiti, Honduras, Salvador and Ecuador. My main sources are German stamp catalogues, books and magazines published up to about 1920 – information that perhaps is largely forgotten by today's general collectors or available only in specialised country handbooks. More recent postmark fakes are generally excluded from this list. Pre-1920 postmarks from my other lists (see links below) are repeated here for easy reference.

Most of the post markers here are forged, but also some fraudulently used genuine cancellers are included. The postage stamps themselves are usually authentic. In this list the presentation of dates and names may have been simplified and lower case letters are used. Of course no list like this one can come even close to being complete, but my intention is still to make improvements here from time to time.
